As the impending transition of the Danish throne approaches, my mind weaves through memories tied to Queen Margrethe II. Possibly both my mother and I could find similarities with the dear, inspiring queen because we both have a passion for creativity and history. And even though we looked nothing like the Danish queen (in terms of skin color), she became our queen too! ♥️

Yet, my stance on monarchy wrestles with my anti-caste principles. The juxtaposition of admiration for the royal family and the aversion to entrenched social hierarchies paints a complex picture. As luck would have it, the German Chancellor’s visit coincided with our excursion, prompting Queen Margrethe to grace us with her presence. Her regal wave, aimed at a group of wide-eyed schoolchildren, including me, added a personal touch to the grandeur of the moment 🥹

All of these aspects also have a special status in relation to her becoming the Daisy of Denmark!
