Aubaine – Dubai Mall, Dubai

Coming home from NYE celebration were very late. It was about 3:30 am, and we were so tired. Though we woke up about 11 am in the morning, got ready and went to the Dubai Mall for breakfast and shopping. Right next to the main entrance of the Dubai Mall is the Aubaine Restaurant & Bakery. It is a french themed restaurant that offers pastries and breakfast.

We started with some delicious bread along with the yummiest jams and some fresh tea from Mariage Frères. I went with the Thé Vert Fuji-Yama Earl Grey Impérial, which is Green Tea from the Mount Fuji in Japan 😉

For breakfast I went with an omelette filled with tomatoes, cheese and mushrooms along with some delicious kale, slow roasted cherry tomatoes and sourdough bread. It was so good 😉 (Didn’t take any pictures). We really enjoyed our breakfasts. The strawberry jam from Aubaine is so delicious, so we both bought some bottles of these 😉

New Year’s Eve 2018 – Karma Kafé, Dubai

The 6th day  and New Year’s Eve was celebrated Downtown Dubai. I did some research about several events before we left for Dubai, and I then found out that Karma Kafé offered a NYE menu, that I booked approx. 1 month before, as they had some early bird prices as well.

Karma Kafé is a Pan-Asia restaurant, placed on the 3rd floor in Souk Al Bahar, with a balcony view of Burj Khalifa and the Fountains. Also you can easily enter the ground floor balcony to have the direct view of Burj Khalifa, which was the reason to book a table here for the NYE.

Bombay Urban Cafe, Dubai

After the helicopter tour and visiting the Dubai Frame, where we went for a very big walk, my friend was so exhausted, and only wanted to take some rest – actually sleep, and I was bored AF as I wanted to go for shopping on my own. Dubai is one of the safest places in the world, you can go wherever you want on your own. As we’d already been to Dubai Mall several times, I decided to go to the Mall of the Emirates for some shopping. The Mall of the Emirates has more than 560 shops, more than 90 dining options, 5 star hotels and world’s biggest indoor ski – what an incredible view it has!

The Mall of the Emirates is located near our hotel in Al Barsha, but I went there with a taxi, as I was not sure about walking. Going there with taxi still took about 8-10 minutes.

After the shopping I went for dinner at an indian restaurant nearby our hotel – Bombay Urban Cafe.

Ewaan Restaurant – The Palace Downtown, Dubai

After our visit to Dubai Miracle Garden we took some rest before our dinner at the Palace Downtown. As mentioned before, Souk Al Bahar and the Palace Downtown are my favourite spots in Dubai. There are so much space to enjoy the moment and to relax.

The Palace Downtown consists of hotels, resorts, restaurants and lounges. If you want to stay in Downtown Dubai, close to Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall, and still need a lot of space, The Palace Downtown will be the perfect place to enjoy your stay.

Ayubowan Restaurant, Dubai

We were totally exhausted after the water sport activities at JBR. We really had to relax for a while, and we actually didn’t do anything the rest of the day. We luckily hadn’t booked any other activities that day.

Before travelling I did a research on Sri Lankan restaurants in Dubai, and Ayubowan Restaurant turned out to be the best Sri Lankan restaurant, so I had booked a table for dinner on the 3rd day before travelling.
