Me-time at Hammam al Andalus

Sooooo, I’m definitely that kind of person who takes care of myself and take time to enjoy selfcare and such pleasures 😉

As I’ve been to such Hammam in Copenhagen at Aire Ancient Baths, where I found out that Aire too has these hammams in Spain (and other places), and even that Aire is spanish owned, I searched for similar options in Málaga, as I wanted some relaxation. So I found Hammam Al Andalus, and booked for a Mimma30, which has a 30 minutes massage and 60 minutes arab bath. I think it was enough, and I enjoyed it pretty much. I just think it could’ve been better if there were some more baths.

Besides, I still enjoyed my time here. I love the cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and that you enter into a different world, where you can just float and relax to the fullest <3 <3

First time trying paella ;)

After a too quick visit to the Botanical Garden in Málaga, I finally managed to get an Uber in a rush, and arrived to Centro Historico, where I found a restaurant to get some lunch. I just felt I had to eat something before going for the Hammam, so I found Tapa Boca, that is located close to where the Uber driver could drop me off. It is a spanish restaurant, and they offered veg paella, so I gave it a try as I haven’t tried a paella before – and when in Spain you should of course try a paella 😉

The paella was pretty good.

Dream coming true – Granada, here I come! ;)

Yep, you got that right!

Visiting Granada has been a dream for me since I was 10 years old, actually. In a maths lesson while in grade 4, my then maths teacher – Bent Nørgaard – was teaching algebra and geometry, he showed us a picture of some geomtric design, that were mathematically created. These designs were not just some random designs; NO, they were from a historical site, and Bent told us about how the muslims/Arabs created these patterns using maths. The patterns and designs he showed us from a particular place he had travelled to – Alhambra in Spain.

Spice me up, Málaga! 🍛

After 3 hours of walking along El Caminito del Rey, we drove back to Málaga etc., where we could jump off if we wanted to do so. When we arrived at Málaga, I therefore decided to jump off the bus, because I thought of eating there. I hadn’t eaten the whole day, but got some water, so I was litterally starving 😂

I decided to go to The Great India at Plaza de la Solidaridad, nearby the Málaga Alameda Centro, which has got some good reviews on Tripadvisor. And I actually liked the food pretty much!

I got some pappadum and some chutney/pickles, and I got a baingan bhartha with rice for main. Really good!

Hereafter I went for shopping at El Corte Inglés. I found out, that being a tourist you can get a Discount Card, that you can use within a week. By using the card I got 10% discount for my first purchase, and 5% for the following purchases. the customer service at any El Corte Inglés shop by showing them your passport or your ID proof ☺️

And then back to Fuengirola by the C1 train ☺️

On the king’s path, Caminito del Rey 👑

I checked Get Your Guide for some tours and trips before travelling to Malaga. I really wanted to go to the Caminito del Rey and Granada to see Alhambra, and I therefore booked a ticket for me to Caminito del Rey. My brother’d already went there back in 2019, and he too recommended me to go there, as he nows I love to hike in nature.

Alcazaba of Málaga & Castillo de Gibralfaro

Then I had a few days on my own, while my brother went for work. Fuengirola is a beautiful town, and as my brother lived only few metres from the beach, I work up early to go to the seaside and enjoy the sunrise. It was some priceless moments, and I could feel how much I needed this kind of space during a hard time. I felt so grateful while enjoying those moments, and they helped me to recover and come back to the normal.
