Supermoon 824

Yesterday, there was an August supermoon – a Blue Moon, to be precise. I had mentioned to my colleague, L, that I might go out and photograph it if I wasn’t too sleepy. Well, as it turned out, I couldn’t sleep at all! So, at 10 PM, I headed out with my camera. Despite being called a “Blue Moon” supermoon, the moon was completely yellow as it rose, and it was absolutely stunning! The whole scene felt so magical and brought back memories of last month in Athens when we experienced a similar moon.

Later, at 11 PM, I went out again, and this time, the moon had more of that “Blue” hue, though it wasn’t as impressive as when it was glowing yellow earlier in the evening.

Look at the Blue Moon here, it just looks normal, right? 😅

Råbjerg Mile & Hjørring

After a day-long trip to the Palm Beach, Skagen and Grenen, we went to Råbjerg Mile. Yes, really we did.

Råbjerg Mile, the (mini) desert-like place of Denmark. It is actually a migrating set of sand dunes, that keeps moving about 15 metres per year, towards Kattegat. It is the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. It has a space of about 1000 m long and 1000 m wide dune of sand, where the highest point is approx. 40 m above sea level. I think this place is mesmerizing, and definitely a must-visit!

New Year’s Eve 2018, Downtown Dubai

Celebrating New Year’s Eve in Dubai has been in mu bucket list for some time, so I was very happy to experience this. Somehow, as 2018 is celebrated as The Year of Zayed, the Father of UAE. In 2018 it is 100 years since the birth of the Sheikh Zayed, and to honor him the NYE 2018 was celebrated in a different way with only LED light show instead of the well known fireworks.

Burj Khalifa by Night – Downtown Dubai

Just some clicks from our walk by Burj Khalifa, after the “At The Top”-visit, back to Burj Khalifa for dinner 😉

These beautiful dandelions are designes by Mirek Struzik. There are 14 dandelions made of acid resistent stainless steel and illuminated by LED lights. The tallest dandelion is about 7.2 m. You can find them in the walking space next to Burj Khalifa, around the Dubai Fountains.
