Thirunelveli Inspired Sodhi – But skinny! ;)

Sodhi is usually eaten with idiyappam (string hoppers) in Ilangai, and I’m actually not sure about what Indians eat with sodhi, but I saw a recipe on Thirunelveli style sodhi in a cooking show with Venkatesh Bath for many years ago, and I think it’s really good with idiyappam.

Thirunelveli is a town in Tamil Nadu, and is very famous for many food items, especially the halwa, from the shop Iruttu Kadai. Other popular food items in Thirunelveli is uluthansoru and uluthankali, and of course sodhi that are particularly eaten in Thirunelveli. Also sodhi and uluthankali are very popular among the tamil people in Ilangai, and I’ve eaten a lot of it.

Veggie Bhajjies

Bhajji is a very popular type of fritter in many states in India, especially Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Assam and West Bengal. In south it’s commonly known as “bhajji”, whereas it is known as “bhajiya” in the other states.

Nowadays you can eat bhajjies all over the country, and also in other places like Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Bhajji is a snack food where various vegetables are dipped in a mixture of gram flour batter and deep fried. Though my family is from Sri Lanka, we love bhajjies very much 😉

I searched for recipes on raw cakes, and found a recipe on a ganache cake, that seemed easy. I just made some changes, because it was an instant move, and I didn’t prepare anything. Haha. So here is my version, and this one is vegan too 😉

Oven Baked Veggie Risotto

Here is one of my favourtie and easiest recipes of vegetable risotto. This recipe is actually one I made many years ago, and shared on my former blog, so now I’m just re-sharing it 😉 Risotto is of course another popular Italian dish, and there are many varieties. Both baking it in the oven is definitely the easiest way, but I’m not sure if this is a “right way” to do it 😛 However, hope you’ll like it 🙂

Paneer Pakora

Paneer pakora is an North Indian snack, and I’ve seen that many Indian restaurants in Europe serve them as starters. I tasted some in Odense, and wanted to make them by myself.

Sponge Cake à la Danish Hindbærsnitte

Hindbærsnitte is a Danish pastry with raspberry jam. One of my colleagues made a sponge cake in hindbærsnitte-style, and it was so yummy. I later found the recipe, and made my own vegetarian version – which means this cake is eggless 😉

The crisp dough:
