I just returned from a much-needed holiday in Andalucia. I recently went to Fuengirola (Málaga), as my brother lived there at that moment. I hadn’t seen him since august 2021, so I was pretty much excited to see him again – and of course travel and get away from a litterally depressing period in mu life! Andalucía was what I really needed, and I don’t regret it at all.
Travelling alone is always fun to me, because I’m an introvert, and I actually love my own company 😉 Of course, I was visiting my brother and I was going to stay with him, but I was travelling alone, as he was working at that time. I was totally okay with that. Had it been 10 years back I wouldn’t have done this, but now I feel so comfortable going alone in unknown places, and I’m actually not scared.
So yes, it was a quick decision to travel, because I was unsure about how much of holidays I had left, but then I was like “okay, just do it”. So I booked the flights through Norwegian, and went for a week, from the 13th November to the 20th November. Norwegian was quite good to fly with. I took an early morning flight, so that I could have enough time in Spain that day.
My brother picked me up at the Málaga Airport, and with Uber we went to Fuengirola, which is about 30 km west to Málaga (my brother lived in Fuengirola). My brother has formerly lived in Málaga back in 2019, so this was actuall his 2nd time moving back to Andalucía, and he seemed really happy. So I was happy too 😉
The lane, where he stayed – only 100 m from the beach 😉

After a quick refresh, we walked down the Paseo Maritimo Rey de España, where we found an Indian-Italian restaurant called Coriander Indian & Italian Restaurant. It’s located near the Miramar shopping centre.
Here, I got a mojito alongside a paneer makhni with rice, while my brother got a veg biryani with a madras salna. I really liked my dish, it was creamy and perfect in taste. My brother said his biryani was really good too, and spicy 😉

After this delicate lunch, we went to CC Miramar, the shopping centre in Fuengirola. I actually thought Fuengirola was a small town, like those we see in Denmark, but it is a quite big city and has everything. I love this town as well I was going to love Málaga.. 🙂

We just went for some shopping. I thought I could buy some “summer” clothes, because I felt it was really hot, but guess what? They were only selling winter fashion 🙁 But that’s okay 😉
Then we got some cake and this yummy fresa drink. Fresa means strawberry in Spanish, btw. I was pretty much surprised how my brother could understand Spanish and he can speak it too. Not fluent, but good enough to live there, it seems. It sounds so beautiful, and I’ve always regretted that I didn’t choose Spanish at college. I chose French instead -_-
After this we went back to my brother’s home, I changed my outfit, because it was too hot, and then we went to the beach to get some drinks and relax. I loved this concept, where you pay 6€ where you can sit on a lounger for 1 hour or something, and you can order drinks and snacks. I could do this every day, lol.
