Good evening, folks, from the sunny shores of Fuengirola! 🙋🏻♀️
Yesterday, I made the executive decision to spend the night in Copenhagen, thanks to my early flight this morning. Unless I suddenly discovered teleportation, there was no way I could catch a train from Herning on the same day. So, I headed to KBH yesterday afternoon, where I treated myself to some delightful solo time and, of course, another fantastic dinner at Sticks’N’Sushi.

After last week’s great first impression, a sequel was inevitable. This time, I opted for their branch near Tivoli, purely for logistical reasons – because why drag my suitcase all over the city when the metro could effortlessly whisk me away to my hotel near Kastrup? Efficiency, people! 🤣
Fast forward to today: after a smooth three-hour flight, followed by a short Uber ride from Málaga Airport (AGP) to Fuengirola, I finally arrived at my home for the next week – Hotel Yaramar, which conveniently overlooks the Costa del Sol. Not a bad place to wake up every morning, right?

12 whole days in Andalusia await; seven in Fuengirola and five in Málaga. I’d say that’s a solid life choice 😎🤪

Since my flight was in the morning, checking into the hotel and securing some good food was priority number one. Enter Cafetería Paseo del Mar, a place that couldn’t decide if it wanted to be Indian, Spanish, or Italian, so it just went with all three. A bold move, but hey, it works! I had an Andalusian vegetarian paella, and let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. Turns out, the kitchen does know what it’s doing – despite the menu looking like a United Nations summit of cuisines 😂😅

After that, with no urgent plans (what a luxury!), I took a leisurely stroll along Paseo Marítimo Rey de España – basically Fuengirola’s beachfront catwalk, where you can admire both the sea views and an impressive selection of dogs being walked by their owners 😜 Along the way, I stumbled upon Heladería Morango, located conveniently on the other side of my hotel. Naturally, I had to stop for an helado – because vacation rules dictate that ice cream is a necessity, not a luxury. I went for mango and chocolate. No regrets.

Since I was already in nostalgia mode, I decided to swing by my brother’s old apartment and his old neighborhood. It was actually quite nice being back, bringing back memories of previous visits.
Dinner was a no-brainer – Limoncello. Last year, my brother and I ate here together, and I knew I had to return. And what a comeback it was! I had ravioli in tomato sauce with rocket, washed down with a piña colada, and then finished strong with panna cotta with chocolate sauce. In short: a food coma, but make it worth it.

Tomorrow’s plan? Plaza Mayor shopping spree! I’m ready to swipe my card, pray for my bank balance, and justify every purchase with the classic “but I’m on vacation” excuse. Stay tuned.
