Music, they say, transcends barriers, weaves stories, and etches memories. The 29th of September unfurled an adventure beyond just attending an AR Rahman concert – it was a carnival of laughter, melodies, and unabashed joy 😄
The curtain rose in Herning, where T, my ever-enthusiastic sister, and I embarked on a musical escapade. Kolding awaited, a pit stop where A, my partner-in-crime, jumped aboard, infusing the journey with boundless enthusiasm and an extra dollop of mischief 🤣😘

The road to Dortmund wasn’t just an asphalt ribbon. It was a narrative spun with road trip shenanigans, impromptu car karaoke sessions, and shared tales that stitched our bond tighter than any map could dictate. The clock struck 17:45 – literally after a 11 hours drive – as we rolled into our haven at Hotel Dorinth an den Westfallenhalle, greeted by the tantalizing aromas of Ciccio’s, a culinary haven teasing our palates with a prelude to the night’s harmonies 🤤😋

Morning radiated with artistic promise at the Phoenix des Lumieres museum. Laughter echoed as we dived into the whimsical world of exhibits, capturing snippets of unfiltered joy in the selfie booth. Moments that radiated the essence of our shared adventures.

Lunch wasn’t just a meal; it was a culinary odyssey. While my taste buds waltzed with the flavors at Curry Masala, A and T indulged in the spice-laden treasures at Imbiss Gourmet Stäbchen. These savory encounters tantalized our senses, preluding the grand feast – the musical banquet by the maestro himself.
Can we start any concert with a prelude? It was a comedy of timing! Fate orchestrated an unexpected interlude amidst the concert queue 😅
Picture this: just as we waltzed into the queue, my brother and his posse, G and N, decided it was the perfect moment to call us. Despite of us waiting for them for several hours. What for, you ask? Well, they needed our room as a backstage for their grand “getting ready” spectacle 🤪😜 Now, I did offer earlier, but seriously, in the midst of the queue buzz, it was like a drumroll for rush and bustle 😂😂
However, with my generous spirit and a pinch of exasperation, off I marched back to the hotel, becoming the hero of the hour as I sacrificed my queue spot to transform our room into their last-minute dress-up zone. The things we do for family, right?
But hey, amidst the whirlwind, for cutiepie N of getting ready, there was a silver lining – I got to catch up with my dear brother and his 2 adorbs of friends! 🥰 Amidst the rush, his goofy antics made it all worth the detour 😅
Finally, after this impromptu backstage scene, we hustled back to Westfallenhalle, racing to reclaim our seats like triumphant warriors returning to claim their thrones 😁

Westfallenhalle emerged as a bastion of musical enchantment. Okay, hold your excitement, because this concert was a blockbuster! It was like the Avengers of the music world, except instead of superheroes, we had musical legends joining forces – cue astounding music 🤩
Picture this: Shweta Mohan, Sakthisree Gopalan, Vijay Yesudas, Blaaze, ADK, Mano and more—basically, a squad that would make any music enthusiast do a happy dance. And boy, did they deliver! Seeing Shweta, Vijay Yesudas, Blaaze, and ADK live? It was so mind-bogglingly INSANE that I almost lost my cool and my voice from screaming 😅
They belted out hits like it was nobody’s business. Nostalgia hit me harder than a ton of bricks, and let me tell you, it was like a time machine wrapped in musical notes. We were transported to those carefree days, grooving and singing along like nobody was watching 🥰🫶🏽😍

Now, here’s the plot twist: I’ve been to an AR Rahman concert before, but this one? Oh, this one took the cake, added some sprinkles, and threw confetti all over my previous experience. It was like the sequel that outshone the original; more drama, more fun, more everything! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
But wait, there’s more! They had this segment dedicated to raaga-based songs. The melodies, timeless and captivating, coursed through hearts, invoking memories of carefree days. The “raaga” segment emerged as a jubilant celebration of Carnatic heritage – a spirited nod to the rhythmic legacy that seasoned the night’s musical stew 😍
And the hits!! From “Mustafa,” “Urvashi” to “Jumbalakka,” , and the latest “Nenjame Nenjame” and “Aga Naga” – it was a playlist straight out of my musical dreams. Each song was like a hug from a friend you haven’t seen in ages – so lovely and so darn festive! 🥳
The highlight for me? Definitely ARR, Shweta and Rakshita performing Yaakkai Thiri, and ADK and Blaaze performing their hits! My god, that was INSANE!! 🥳🤩
As the final crescendo echoed, serendipity graced the evening once more. A joyous rendezvous with my dear brother and his 2 friends, blending jubilation and music into a crescendo adorned with sidesplitting anecdotes and treasured moments ♥️

In the embrace of Rahman’s symphonies, the night transcended into an opus: an exuberant canvas painted with laughter, shared escapades, and the eternal allure of music, etching itself into the fabric of everlasting memories.
Another epic Insta milestone. Do you ask what it is? Well, my reel from the concert hit a whopping 112 thousand views in less than a week 🤩😱
