Two weeks ago, my friend A and I decided to take a chance and see Trevor Noah’s stand-up show in Copenhagen. We were a bit skeptical and nervous about whether the show would live up to our expectations, but we went all-in.
After a very short day at work, I hopped on the train to Copenhagen and met my friend for dinner at Sokkelund. It’s a small, fancy café, so we thought it must be good. We each ordered a burger – I went all-in on a vegetarian, of course. Let me just say that that burger was dry as the Sahara and as flavorful as cardboard. But hey, I was hungry, so it went down anyway.
With full (albeit not satisfied) bellies, we headed to K B Hallen to see Trevor Noah’s “Off the Record”. The hall was filled with 1500-2000 people and the atmosphere was high. The show started with a warm-up from Wil Sylvince, who got us in the right mood with his hilarious and sarcastic humor – just my cup of tea!
When Trevor Noah finally took the stage, we were blown away by his unrivaled ability to make us laugh non-stop. His sharp observations on daily life, politics and Danish events were simply hilarious! We left with sore laughter muscles and big smiles on our faces, and we couldn’t stop talking about how funny it all was. It was one of those nights you just don’t forget.
The next day we decided to enjoy a lovely brunch at Livingstone by the Lakes in Copenhagen. That place is pure hygge, and their brunch? Absolutely amazing! Delicious, summery dishes that made me consider becoming a regular 😅😜
All in all, it was an unforgettable trip with lots of laughs and great memories. Trevor Noah delivered the goods, and a visit to Livingstone, but maybe skip the burger at Sokkelund next time.
