So, last weekend, my bestie and I took on KBH for a weekend of laughs, art, and a healthy side of neck strain. The mission? To see the โ€œBros Comedy Showโ€ starring our absolute favorites: Melvin Kakooza and Mahamad Habane, plus Hadi Ka-Koush and Joel Hyrland (aka Adam and Noah). Iโ€™ve been to my fair share of comedy shows, and I knew it was high time my bestie experienced the same joy – especially the kind you get from Melvin and Mahamad, who are side-splittingly funny.

We decided to stay in the city center at the Phoenix Hotel – keeping it classy! We slept in (as one should on weekends), then kicked off the day with an early, but extremely tasty Vietnamese lunch at Lรบa, near Marmorkirken, before heading out to Refshaleรธen for the interactive Van Gogh exhibition.

And let me tell you, the exhibition was mind-blowing. Iโ€™ve always been a fan of Van Gogh, with โ€œStarry Nightโ€ and โ€œLes Alyscampsโ€ being my personal faves, though I love pretty much everything he touched. This exhibition took it up a notch, offering a VR experience that basically plopped you into his paintings. So there we were, strolling around in VR glasses, like, โ€œOh, is that Van Goghโ€™s Room? Yes, Iโ€™ll wander through this field!โ€ It was like Van Gogh and I were on a first-name basis.

The exhibit also let us color in sketches of his works, so naturally, I had to give โ€œSunflowersโ€ my own twist. Iโ€™ll just say my version of โ€œSunflowersโ€ might not end up in a museum anytime soon, but itโ€™s in a virtual collection now, so close enough! ๐Ÿ˜„ The whole experience was perfectly organized and is sticking around until January 2025, so if you havenโ€™t been, I highly recommend it. (Thanks, Fever!)

After swimming in art, we headed to Strรธget for round two of KBH fun. A quick bus from Refshaleรธen got us to the Museum of Illusions, which Iโ€™d previously visited in Madrid. It was just as mind-bending as ever, with a few new exhibits. Itโ€™s basically a place where you can laugh at your own confused reflection in a million funhouse mirrors – good laughs guaranteed.

Dinner came early, and since we were famished, we hit up Rangoli for some solid Indian cuisine. Pani puri and paneer masala with rice? Absolute heaven. And because our taste buds demanded more, we slid next door to Cascabel for dessert. Not to brag, but we basically inhaled that cake. With bellies full of deliciousness, we were ready for Bros!

Then came the Royal Arena, where we were met withโ€ฆ the unexpected. Cue dramatic music. Weโ€™d booked balcony seats, right? Well, the venue had mysteriously shut down the entire balcony area we were supposed to sit in, swapping our tickets for seats way over on the side of the hall. Iโ€™m talking seats where โ€œa viewโ€ of the stage required a chiropractor visit after. So, what did we do? Stubbornly marched ourselves right back to the middle balcony, sat down, and dared anyone to move us. Itโ€™s funny how venues can shut things down while leaving the area totally open and accessible ๐Ÿซฅ

Anyway, we parked ourselves there, with a perfect view, and waited for the 8:00 PM show, which finally kicked off at 8:10 PM, but wow, it was worth it. The show started with an intro by none other than L.O.C., followed by the main Bros. The energy was through the roof; people were practically falling out of their chairs laughing. Melvin and Habane were in top form, just like they are on TV, and I swear, Melvin almost brought the house down. Hadi was funny too, just not quite on the same level as the other two. And then there was Joelโ€ฆ bless him, he tried, but letโ€™s just say, the crowd wasnโ€™t exactly on the floor. Thankfully, Joel opened, so it only got better from there, ending on a hilarious high note.

And a sweet โ€œthanksโ€ from Melvin himself and a repost on Insta ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜„

The show left us in stitches, and we strolled back to the hotel to chat a bit before collapsing into bed.

The next morning, we did brunch right at Livingstone by Sortedamssรธen, enjoying the perfect end to a fantastic weekend.

After that, we headed back to Fyn, satisfied, full, and still laughing. 10/10, would weekend again ๐Ÿ˜
