On the last day of our vacation in Athens, we decided to visit the Archaeological Museum of Athens.
Segway Spin Through Athens 💨🙆🏻♀️
The following day started off pretty slowly, which was just what we needed after the long adventure to Meteora the day before. We took our time getting ready and treated ourselves to a nice breakfast at The Makers, a charming spot just two minutes from our hotel. I’d definitely recommend booking a table in advance, as it’s a popular place with a steady flow of visitors. I had a fresh orange juice and a waffle topped with avocado, which was both filling and delicious – exactly what I needed to start the day 😋🍊🥑

The Monasteries in the Clouds – Meteora’s Timeless Beauty ⛰️🏞️🙋♀️
On our fourth day in Greece, we decided to book a last-minute trip to Meteora through GYG. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. The pictures on GYG looked almost “too” good, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it might be a bit overhyped. My friend shared my concerns but was definitely more optimistic. Either way, the trip was booked, and we had something to look forward to!
From High School Dreams to Reality: Acropolis, Here We Come! 🏛️
On Tuesday, we had grand plans to conquer the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, so like any well-prepared tourists, I’d snagged tickets ahead of time. Since we had the entire day to dive into history with all-day access, we opted for a leisurely start. I mean, who wouldn’t take the chance to sleep in a bit? 🤣
From Korinthos to Mykene – A Trip Through Greece’s Timeless Treasures 🏛
As previously mentioned, day two in Athens was all about a day trip. We had booked the tour in advance through Get Your Guide, and let me tell you, it was an all-day affair. Knowing this, we came prepared – breakfast, snacks, drinks, the works. We were supposed to be picked up by our guide at another hotel in the city, but there was a slight hiccup – we were forgotten! 😂 But hey, someone eventually came to the rescue, and after a bit of bus shuffling, we were off, heading southwest towards the Peloponnes 😄🙋🏻♀️
Escaping the rain – A spontaneous Greek adventure ✈️ 🇬🇷
So, we ended up on this totally spontaneous trip to Greece after I flirted with the idea of a solo adventure to Portugal for my summer holidays. The Danish summer was getting to me – rain, rain, and more rain 😅😂 I mean, who wouldn’t want to escape that? I mentioned my escape plans to my friend A, and she did a quick 180 on her own plans and suggested a getaway to Athens. I thought, “Why not?” It’s Athens! A place dripping with history, which, thanks to high school, I find endlessly fascinating.
