A different birthday treat!

A few weeks ago, I went to do something crazy. Something I’ve been thinking about for some years, to try it abroad. Somehow this situation with covid-19 put a temporary stop for my travels, so I decided to do this here in Denmark, in my birthplace Herning! A tandem skydiving!

My brother went for this the week before, so I talked about it with my sister from another mother, and she too wanted to try it, so we immediately booked a jump for us. This is the greatest experience ever! Thanks to DropZone Denmark for a great experience 😃

I was not afraid, but very much excited. I was actually totally relaxed, as my instructor was so cool and an experienced skydiver with more than 1700 jumps. I was more afraid for my ears – I suffer from middle ear pressure problems, and I feared this pain most, because once I get this negative pressure, it takes me days for recover. But that’s ok, lol 😅

You know… The moment you jump off the flight.. Time stands still. There is something meditative about it, really! Then you feel the cold air against your face in a 250 km/h free fall, you realize what’s going on, you look around and see Mother Earth from a different view, and something magical just happens. It felt like a new beginning. Suddenly all your problems disappear.. or they seem like nothing. You just realize it. Life is about living THE moment. Capture it, grab the moment, feel it, enjoy it, and use it.

Birthday in Singapore

As mentioned before, I decided to celebrate my birthday in foreign this year, but I actually didn’t have any further plans. Also my bestie told me not to plan anything for my birthday, so I did so and I didn’t have any expectations. My only request was to visit the temple on that day, because I always do so, and Tamil New Year usually falls on my birthday too.

Tamil new year [2015] OOTD

I last wrote about the New Year preps, and I was busy with some temple stuff. As it was my birthday too, I already bought a beautiful salwar from SS Ornaments. I don’t have anything I beige, so I decided to buy a salwar in beige, with pink lining and borders. It looked so lovely in the picture, but it was even prettier in real 😉

As the time for the New Year’s beginning was at 8.54 am, I got up early that day, so I could get ready and go to the temple abishekam and pooja at time. I’ve actually never been there for the new year’s beginning, so I was happy to be able to do so this time. It was a blessed moment to be there and watch the New Year’s pooja, and celebrate my birthday over there. I also went to the temple for the evening pooja, so it was indeed a day filled with “bhakthi” 😀 You know, there’s something in start a new beginning at the temple 😉

Here, Mr. Ganesh wearing the garland, I made for the day 😉

Since I’ve moved to Aarhus, I don’t have that much time to go to the temple – I used to go there almost every week, but now it’s turned out to a visit every 2nd or 3rdmonth 🙁 I really miss the divine atmosphere, and that feeling of “getting blessed”. However, I’m very religious, and pray every morning and evening at my home alter.

So what did I get for my birthday? Well, hindus calculate “nalla neram” (auspicious time) for kaivishesham, visiting each other etc. when it’s New Year, and the New Year’s day was not on a “good day”. Therefore, my parents gave me the gift (which was money) already few days before my birthday, otherwise they’d have to wait to the 15th of April, as the auspicious kaivishesha time took place on this day. Anyhow, I got kaivishesham too 😉

OKAY! That was my family’s birthday gift for me – Kaasu, panam, dhuddu, money money! 😛 Later, I spent some days with my very close friends and colleagues, and they too gave me some very lovely gifts. I feel so blessed to know such great people, that wish, bless and caring for me. Thank you everyone! 🙂

Here’re some pictures of what I got. Yes – someone bought Ray Ban sunglasses too! OMG! <3 Moreover I got a necklace, a gold chain, a hulahoop ring, a decorative stool with storage/tray (I love this one sooooo much!), and some pants for fitness (not on the pictures), and some chocolate too – of course 😉

Hey, uh.. I forgot to show you the salwar! Here’s a “selfie”
