Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek

The Glyptotek – or the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, as it’s originally named – is a museum, founded by Carl Jacobsen, who was the founder of the famous Carlsberg brewery as well. Carl was very fond of art and a very passionate collector of art. At first, his collections were meant to be at his home, but it was very soon clear, that there weren’t enough room for his collections, that he therefore founded the Ny Calrsberg Glyptotek and dedicated all his art collections to the danish people.

The Glyptotek itself is a very interesting piece of architecture. As of Carl’s wishes, the building itself should be breathtaking, and esthetic. Beautiful, and with harmony. Satisfactioning.

Berlin, Day 3

Hellooooo my dear lovelies!

Hope you’re all doing good. It seems like spring is not coming yet.. We had few days with some beautiful and gleaming spring-like weather, but now it’s been raining for like a week. OMG! Hopefully spring is coming in April, because we all know how awesome April is! ^_^

I’ve writing about my trip to Berlin, and decided to write a post on each single day. This time I’m going to tell you guys about my 3rd day in Berlin, so here we go! 😉

The 3rd day started off a bit hushed, and it was actually after our breakfast that we decided to visit the Museum Island on that day. We took the S-Bahn once again from our hotel to Hackesher Markt, and walked down the streets to the Museum Island.

This is actually the oldest ensemble of museums in Berlin, and includes the 5 museums below:

  • Pergamon Museum
  • Bode Museum
  • Neues Museum
  • Altes Museum
  • Alte Nationalgalerie
