Aadi Pirappu โ€˜24 ๐ŸŒพ

Today marks Aadi Pirappu, a significant festival in Tamil culture, and my mom and I decided to celebrate by making Aadi Koozh, a traditional dish cherished by Sri Lankan Tamils. It’s been a few years since we last prepared something special for Aadi Pirappu, even though we always go all out for Thai Pongal.

Queen Margrethe II: A Tapestry of Royal Reflections ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿซก

As the impending transition of the Danish throne approaches, my mind weaves through memories tied to Queen Margrethe II. Her artistic flair, evident in both painting and design, left an indelible mark on my imagination. I recall my mother’s passion as she delved into a Danish project, narrating tales of Queen Margrethe with infectious enthusiasm. It was intriguing to delve into the details of Queen Margrethe’s diverse talents, where her artistic pursuits shine brightly. Not only is she an accomplished painter, but her illustrations grace the pages of several books, adding depth to her creative legacy. She has also emerged as an incredibly strong female figure in a male-dominated world.

Possibly both my mother and I could find similarities with the dear, inspiring queen because we both have a passion for creativity and history. And even though we looked nothing like the Danish queen (in terms of skin color), she became our queen too! โ™ฅ๏ธ

Al Meza – Mediterranean Brunch in Aarhus!

Guys!!

Few weeks ago I and some of my friends went for brunch in Aarhus; we chose Al Meza at Frederiks Allรฉ, because my friend really recommended us to try their food.

Al Meza offers a varieties of dishes from the Mediterranean kitchen and few danish food items too, where you can choose 3, 5 or 7 dishes of own choice from their set of menu. Itโ€™s INexpensive, and so tasty! Moreover they offer a nice variety of both cold and hot beverages ๐Ÿง‰๐Ÿ˜‹

I went for 7 dishes and their lemonade with mint. My God, so far the best brunch Iโ€™ve ever had in my life! Iโ€™m definitely going for another brunch or 2, or 10 here ๐Ÿ˜„

Have a closer look at some of them! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜

And the 2 other dishes were Batata Harra and Mozzarella w. tomatoes & pesto.

Murungai Ilai [Moringa Leaves] kulambu

You might have heard about murungai (moringa) and its benefits. Itโ€™s something people in Asia have been eating for generations, but only recently people in the west โ€œrecognizedโ€ it as a superfood. Not only the treeโ€™s leaves, but also the sticks and bark are useful, and have been used in food and for medication, mainly in Siddha Maruthuvam, for ages. The word muringa is actually derived from the tamil name murungai and the malayali name muringa.

We use the sticks very much, and itโ€™s easy to buy them in the local tamil stores, but the leaves are not always imported. Whenever we are able to buy them, we do, because we love them and of course of the benefits.
