As the curtain drew to a close on Roman adventures, I dedicated my final day in Italy (as for now) to retail therapy. The chosen battleground? Rinascente – a retail wonderland promising everything the heart desires.
Rinascente, a historic department store in Rome, stands as a beacon of luxury and style. Situated near the iconic Piazza di Spagna, it offers an array of international brands, gourmet treats, and a panoramic rooftop with breathtaking views of Rome.
Entering this shopping haven, I simply had one mission: to conquer the aisles and leave no luxury unclaimed. Perfumes, olive oils, balsamic delights, and a treasure trove of sweets adorned the shopping cart. Ah, but the pièce de résistance? Sfogliatellas! The sweet symphony of layers made the heart sing, even as frolles tantalizingly teased a winter rendezvous.
And then, amidst the olfactory whirlwind of perfume choices, a revelation occurred – Salvatore Ferragamo’s Calimala. A fragrance blending the delicacy of roses, the brightness of Brazilian oranges, and the spicy allure of cardamom. An exclusive olfactory symphony that instantly captured the heart. A new favourite perfume has found its way to me ♥️
Post-shopping spree, the dinner dilemma resurfaced. The struggle to find authentic Italian flavors amidst average offerings led to a familiar embrace – the giant Paper Roast, once again stealing the spotlight, this time accompanied with a medhu vadai.

Rome’s culinary conquests and retail extravagance culminated in a day of treasures and tastes. From the opulence of Rinascente to the scents of Salvatore Ferragamo and the comforting embrace of South Indian cuisine, it was a finale that danced to the tune of exploration and satisfaction.
