From Herning to France in less than 1 hour – Wait, what?! πŸ˜„πŸŒžπŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ‡©πŸ‡°

The past week and a half have been spent in Herning, but tomorrow, it’s time to head south – straight to Fuengirola and MΓ‘laga in Spain! And I cannot wait! The first time I was there was last November when my brother lived in Fuengirola. Fun fact: He moved back to Denmark just a week after my visit. Coincidence? I think not. Proof that miracles exist? Absolutely – especially for kind souls like him. πŸ˜‰

But who knew, I’d also visit France, and that it’s suddenly in Jylland?! πŸ˜… JK, read here πŸ˜‚

While in Herning, I’ve been thoroughly spoiled with food. My mom has been whipping up all sorts of deliciousness – thosai, flavorful curry spreads, and, in a moment of culinary inspiration, I made a biryani. Naturally, I shared it with some family friends, who were beyond thrilled (because, let’s be honest, who says no to biryani?) 😁

Aside from eating my way through the days, I caught up with my wonderful friends T and S, which also meant some quality playtime with their kids. S is currently on maternity leave, and her little son is just the cutest! πŸ₯°

Then, on Friday, I met up with three of my closest colleagues – M, C, and L – for a little reunion. We headed to Ry to visit L, had a cozy dinner, and then drove out to Himmelbjerget. And here’s where it gets funny – somehow, during the drive, we ended up in France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ˜‚

Okay, not actual France, but a random area called France – or actually Frankrig. No one really knows why, but some say it’s named after a house in the area called β€œFrankrighus.” Whatever the reason, it was hilarious to randomly β€œarrive” in France in the middle of Denmark.

On Saturday, I finally made it to the annual Sand Sculpture Festival in SΓΈndervig! I went with S, his fiancΓ©e, and his parents. S is like a brother to me – we’ve known each other since he was born – so it was extra special to share this experience. Funny enough, I’ve been wanting to go to this festival for years, but something always got in the way – either bad weather or lack of time. But this year, the stars aligned, and we had the best time!

Meanwhile, a very important dilemma has been occupying my mind: what saree to wear for my dear friend K’s wedding in September. K, by the way, is my friend T’s sister. I bought a beautiful collection of sarees last year from Venkateswara Weaver in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, and now the hard part is choosing one. I think I’m going with the blue one – just look at it, isn’t it stunning? 😍 Now I just need my mom to sew the blouse, and voilΓ !

With all that settled, I’ve officially packed my bags for Spain! A glorious 12-day escape to the south. 😍 But first, a quick stop in Copenhagen before I fly out on Friday. It’s going to be amazing!
