As the wheels of travel turned swiftly, I bid Napoli adieu and hopped onto a high-speed train bound for the eternal city of Rome. In just a blink of 1 hour and 13 minutes, the journey traversed landscapes, bridging the gap between two Italian gems. Rome, the city of seven hills and ancient wonders, is home to the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient Roman engineering. This architectural gem, built around 126 AD, boasts the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome, a testament to Roman ingenuity. Not only that, Rome has a wealth of historical monuments and it’s like traveling back in time.

Upon arrival, nestled near Termini and within reach of historical wonders, lay the majestic Hotel St. Martin by Omnia. A refuge meticulously designed with regal elegance, offering you the perfect haven β a spacious, beautifully adorned room that ticked all the boxes of comfort and style. That’s what I had booked for me, for the coming next 4 days. And I was happy π€©

Eager to tantalize taste buds craving a departure from Italian flavors, I embarked on a culinary quest. The destination? Saravanaa Bhavan, a haven for spices and the famed Mysore Masala Dosa. Amidst the aroma of spices, a symphony of flavors unfolded β a mouthwatering feast including a mango lassi, rava kesari, and the star of the show, the dosa itself. Ah, the joy of finding comfort in familiar tastes! Pricelessssssss ππ€©π

With a belly full of flavorful delights, I got into a spontaneous escapade to the Ikono Museum, nestled near the illustrious Pantheon. A decision that unfolded into a delightful rendezvous with art, playfulness, and imagination π€ΈπΎββοΈ

The Ikono Museum, an oasis of artistic expression, invited me to revel in creativity and engage with exhibits that inspired a sense of whimsy and wonder. Amidst the ancient backdrop of Rome, the museum was a sanctuary for a playful spirit seeking new experiences.
And there was the Pantheon, large and majestic amidst all the hustle and bustle of the crowds and modern cafes. The moment you stand in front of the gigantic accumulation of history, it’s like being back in the 1st century, until you wake up from the spell π

Rome β a city steeped in history, where high-speed modernity blends seamlessly with ancient wonders. From the grandeur of the Pantheon to the spices of Saravanaa Bhavan and the artistic allure of Ikono Museum, this day wove together the threads of tradition, flavors, and creative exploration. Coming back to Rome after 17 years to find that the city offers much more than just historical monuments was very special. It was like waking up the child who has been hiding for several years. Only this year have I managed to rediscover it, first during my visit to Madrid and now here in Rome. I think Southern Europe is trying to tell me something π€ͺπ€
