The last day in Naples was spent hiking Vesuvio, which meant there was also some time to relax. After all, you can’t walk all day, can you? ๐๐คฃ
When it came to dinner, I was getting a little unsure of what to eat – because Napoli hadn’t exactly offered anything exciting or insanely delicious so far.
Vesuvio Venture: Scaling Nature’s Fury ๐
I had booked a trip/hiking tour to Vesuvio on the following day.
Amidst the Italian expedition, a day dedicated to Vesuvio unfolded, promising an encounter with nature’s raw power. While the thought of Pompeji raised solemn thoughts, the allure of Vesuvio, a volcano steeped in history, beckoned me.
Choosing to pay homage in my own way, I embarked on a journey with a guided tour from Napoli’s central station. The destination? Sentiero del Gran Cono – the gateway to Vesuvio’s mystical depths. So the group was dropped of there, and from here we were on our own.
Capri Chronicles: Unveiling the Enchanting Gem โ๏ธ๐
After a less-than-stellar start in Napoli, the following day I decided to set sail for the breathtaking island of Capri. Embarking from Port Napoli, a guided tour awaited, promising a day to remember. Little did I know, that it was in for a treat of nature’s finest offerings.
Summer Vacay to Italy โ23: From CPH to Napoli ๐ฎ๐น๐
Napoli Adventures: Expectations vs. Reality
A spontaneous trip to Italy, as I was โforcedโ to take a 2 weeks holiday due to summer shutdown. You know, I am that kind of person who only wants to take leaves when I really feel for it, and not because the workplace decides to do so ๐คฃ
But as an employee, you can’t decide everything, and as a manager, you have the right to force your employees to take vacation. So you have to respect that. Without a doubt ๐ซก
I thought that I could easily manage 2 weeks in Denmark, but as I approached the weeks, I actually became more and more annoyed, so I spontaneously decided to book a trip to Italy. I thought I would travel to Napoli and Rome this time. I have, in 2006, been to Rome in connection with a study trip. a study trip, and it was really cool. I fell in love with Rome! So of course I had to see this beautiful city again! Napoli was another gem on my bucket list, dating back to my childhood when I loved watching Tom & Jerry. There was an episode where the two crazy characters end up in ๐คฃNapoli, so I had to do that too. Fun, right? Then, at the age of 35, I thought “well, there was Naples too”, especially now that my brother has also been to the city and seen some things. So why not? ๐
Hammam in Madrid ๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Knowing how much I enjoy some Hammam self-care, I thought, โWhy not share the love?โ
So, Iโm like, โT, darling, you deserve some pampering!โ ๐ Because honestly, nothing beats pampering the ones you cherish! Itโs like my way of showing some extra love and care! โฅ๏ธ
So, after the sightseeing around the Palacio Real de Madrid, we quickly went to our hotel to get some rest, and then had some yummyness at Cafe&Tรฉ (in the opposite of our hotel), before going to Hammam.

My choice was Hammam al Andalus, that is located a few minutes away from the hotel, and because I’ve tried Hammam al Andalus in Mรกlaga, and loved it.

We had this combination of massage and baths, called Mimma30, which has 30 minutes of massage and 1 hour in the baths. Once again, highly recommendable. Remember to take care and pamper yourself ๐๐ค
Hereafter, we went to La Tagliatella at C. de Preciados, nearby Puerta de Sol – as we both like italian food, and felt like trying this after plenty of spanish food ๐ I got a gargenelli neapoletano, and it was yummy as I remebered it from the same chain in Mรกlaga ๐๐๐

So, post-delicious dinner, we set out on a wild goose chase for this San Miguel Fresca. Apparently, it’s the unicorn of beverages because nobody seemed to be in on the selling game! Well, ain’t that just perfect? ๐ ๐ Anyway, no luck there, but hey, on the bright side, we took a scenic tour of Puerta del Sol and Plaza del Callao. I mean, who needs that elusive drink when you’ve got charming vibes to soak in, right? ๐คญ Madrid, you’re so good at playing hard to get – guess that’s why I’m gonna miss you, right? ๐ฅน
Guess where the adventure ended? At Ginos, right around the corner from our hotel, sipping on some drinks.
And voila, cue the unforgettable vibes! I’m talking top-notch, unforgettable days that’ll be lodged in my memory bank forever! Seriously, one of those trips that gets a triple heart rating from me! โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ

More sightseeing and Fuente de Cibeles โฝ๏ธโฅ๏ธ
Post-Segway adventure, we hit up the Mercado de San Miguel, the OG indoor market of Madrid! Built way back in 1916โtalk about vintage vibes! But today? Itโs a tapas wonderland, a gourmet feast waiting to happen. Our mission? Lunch, of course! ๐๐
But let me tell you, I had my eyes on those delectable treats like a kid in a candy storeโฆ until Ryan Air crashed the foodie party ๐คฃ The woes of airline rules – canโt take the taste of Spain home with me ๐คฃ๐คช
