More sightseeing and Fuente de Cibeles ⚽️♥️

Post-Segway adventure, we hit up the Mercado de San Miguel, the OG indoor market of Madrid! Built way back in 1916—talk about vintage vibes! But today? It’s a tapas wonderland, a gourmet feast waiting to happen. Our mission? Lunch, of course! 😋😍

But let me tell you, I had my eyes on those delectable treats like a kid in a candy store… until Ryan Air crashed the foodie party 🤣 The woes of airline rules – can’t take the taste of Spain home with me 🤣🤪

Our Jaffna – What to see – Continued

Okay, let’s pick up where we left off – Jaffna! 😃😍

Following my solo excursion to Jaffna Fort, I rendezvoused with my brother at the Jaffna Public Library to explore the area. Conveniently situated on the same road is the Thanthai Chelva Memorial, which houses the library as well—just a few meters apart, in fact.

Back to paradise

Ah, Sri Lanka! Pleasure seeing you again after 20 years, hehe 😉

My brother and I jetted off to Sri Lanka last month, primarily to attend a friend’s wedding, but we also aimed to relish the sights and sounds of the country, particularly Yarl (Jaffna), on our own terms. Right from the get-go, our excitement knew no bounds—it was an adventure we eagerly anticipated from day one! 😁

12 Days in Andalusia: A Culinary and Coastal Love Affair 🤣🇪🇸🌊

Good evening, folks, from the sunny shores of Fuengirola! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Yesterday, I made the executive decision to spend the night in Copenhagen, thanks to my early flight this morning. Unless I suddenly discovered teleportation, there was no way I could catch a train from Herning on the same day. So, I headed to KBH yesterday afternoon, where I treated myself to some delightful solo time and, of course, another fantastic dinner at Sticks’N’Sushi.

After last week’s great first impression, a sequel was inevitable. This time, I opted for their branch near Tivoli, purely for logistical reasons – because why drag my suitcase all over the city when the metro could effortlessly whisk me away to my hotel near Kastrup? Efficiency, people! 🤣

Alhambra, the red palace from my childhood dreams

As written in the former post, travelling to Granada, to see Alhambra has been a dream since my childhood.

The Granada, by the way, is believed to origin from the spanish word for pomegranate, granado – and some believe it is of arabic origin, from gar-anat, meaning hill of pilgrims. But the most accurate might be granado, as pomegranate is the locally abundant fruit in Granada.

After going to Catedral de Granada, we went for lunch. There weren’t much open at that time, so we found what was open, and the food here was definitely nothing great :-/ But that was what we could get.

Hereafter we met in front of the cathedral again with the guide and all the others, and we went to Alhambra 😉

Dream coming true – Granada, here I come! ;)

Yep, you got that right!

Visiting Granada has been a dream for me since I was 10 years old, actually. In a maths lesson while in grade 4, my then maths teacher – Bent Nørgaard – was teaching algebra and geometry, he showed us a picture of some geomtric design, that were mathematically created. These designs were not just some random designs; NO, they were from a historical site, and Bent told us about how the muslims/Arabs created these patterns using maths. The patterns and designs he showed us from a particular place he had travelled to – Alhambra in Spain.
