Culinary Escapades & Colossal Adventures: A South Indian Affair in Rome ๐Ÿคญ

Ah, Rome! A city where ancient wonders collide with modern-day delights, beckoning me for another round of adventures. But before the Colosseum stole the spotlight, a familiar craving for flavors led to a rendezvous at Saravanaa Bhavan โ€“ a temple of South Indian and Tamil culinary wonders. I apologize for my inappropriate behavior here, but the sad culinary experience from Nappoli lingered and had led to an unstoppable craving for spicy food ๐Ÿ˜…

Roman Revelations: From High-Speed Trains to Spiced Delights ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿš„

As the wheels of travel turned swiftly, I bid Napoli adieu and hopped onto a high-speed train bound for the eternal city of Rome. In just a blink of 1 hour and 13 minutes, the journey traversed landscapes, bridging the gap between two Italian gems. Rome, the city of seven hills and ancient wonders, is home to the Pantheon, a marvel of ancient Roman engineering. This architectural gem, built around 126 AD, boasts the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome, a testament to Roman ingenuity. Not only that, Rome has a wealth of historical monuments and it’s like traveling back in time.

Summer Vacay to Italy โ€˜23: From CPH to Napoli ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ•

Napoli Adventures: Expectations vs. Reality

A spontaneous trip to Italy, as I was โ€œforcedโ€ to take a 2 weeks holiday due to summer shutdown. You know, I am that kind of person who only wants to take leaves when I really feel for it, and not because the workplace decides to do so ๐Ÿคฃ

But as an employee, you can’t decide everything, and as a manager, you have the right to force your employees to take vacation. So you have to respect that. Without a doubt ๐Ÿซก

I thought that I could easily manage 2 weeks in Denmark, but as I approached the weeks, I actually became more and more annoyed, so I spontaneously decided to book a trip to Italy. I thought I would travel to Napoli and Rome this time. I have, in 2006, been to Rome in connection with a study trip. a study trip, and it was really cool. I fell in love with Rome! So of course I had to see this beautiful city again! Napoli was another gem on my bucket list, dating back to my childhood when I loved watching Tom & Jerry. There was an episode where the two crazy characters end up in ๐ŸคฃNapoli, so I had to do that too. Fun, right? Then, at the age of 35, I thought “well, there was Naples too”, especially now that my brother has also been to the city and seen some things. So why not? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Hammam in Madrid ๐Ÿ›€๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Knowing how much I enjoy some Hammam self-care, I thought, โ€˜Why not share the love?โ€™

So, Iโ€™m like, โ€˜T, darling, you deserve some pampering!โ€™ ๐Ÿ˜„ Because honestly, nothing beats pampering the ones you cherish! Itโ€™s like my way of showing some extra love and care! โ™ฅ๏ธ

So, after the sightseeing around the Palacio Real de Madrid, we quickly went to our hotel to get some rest, and then had some yummyness at Cafe&Tรฉ (in the opposite of our hotel), before going to Hammam.

My choice was Hammam al Andalus, that is located a few minutes away from the hotel, and because I’ve tried Hammam al Andalus in Mรกlaga, and loved it.

We had this combination of massage and baths, called Mimma30, which has 30 minutes of massage and 1 hour in the baths. Once again, highly recommendable. Remember to take care and pamper yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿค—

Hereafter, we went to La Tagliatella at C. de Preciados, nearby Puerta de Sol – as we both like italian food, and felt like trying this after plenty of spanish food ๐Ÿ˜‰ I got a gargenelli neapoletano, and it was yummy as I remebered it from the same chain in Mรกlaga ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹

So, post-delicious dinner, we set out on a wild goose chase for this San Miguel Fresca. Apparently, it’s the unicorn of beverages because nobody seemed to be in on the selling game! Well, ain’t that just perfect? ๐Ÿ˜’ ๐Ÿ˜…Anyway, no luck there, but hey, on the bright side, we took a scenic tour of Puerta del Sol and Plaza del Callao. I mean, who needs that elusive drink when you’ve got charming vibes to soak in, right? ๐Ÿคญ Madrid, you’re so good at playing hard to get – guess that’s why I’m gonna miss you, right? ๐Ÿฅน

Guess where the adventure ended? At Ginos, right around the corner from our hotel, sipping on some drinks.

And voila, cue the unforgettable vibes! I’m talking top-notch, unforgettable days that’ll be lodged in my memory bank forever! Seriously, one of those trips that gets a triple heart rating from me! โ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

More sightseeing and Fuente de Cibeles โšฝ๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

Post-Segway adventure, we hit up the Mercado de San Miguel, the OG indoor market of Madrid! Built way back in 1916โ€”talk about vintage vibes! But today? Itโ€™s a tapas wonderland, a gourmet feast waiting to happen. Our mission? Lunch, of course! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜

But let me tell you, I had my eyes on those delectable treats like a kid in a candy storeโ€ฆ until Ryan Air crashed the foodie party ๐Ÿคฃ The woes of airline rules – canโ€™t take the taste of Spain home with me ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคช
