Vegspiration: Oven baked veggie pasta

Hiii guys 🙂

I should’ve posted this recipe for ages ago, as I made this dish for my bestie who visited me some weeks ago. I haven’t really tried out oven baked pasta – I guess I tried it once while living in Odense (and it’s been more than 2 years since I moved!). This time I therefore tried with some other ingredients, to get some “more protein”, at it turned out very well. So here we go! 😉

[Sorry, the lighting was not perfect ;)]

Simple Chia Pudding

My attempt for a healthier lifestyle has now included breakfasts too. Since 2014 I actually didn’t eat breakfast everyday, as I used to have a kind of “fasting” to keep myself away from eating too much of calories. I have had several ways of controlling myself from eating too much calories, which included an “8-hour” diet for 3 months, and afterwards a 4-months “no sugar”-period, and later a “5 day morning-fasting” period for a year. I felt this actually helped me a lot, and I didn’t gain weight. Beside these kind of diets I also went to fitness, but unfortunately I haven’t trained the past few months due to mental and physical health issues. BUT since the beginning of 2016 I decided to go another way: eat normal instead of controlling myself from not eating on specific times or specific items 😉

So why did I chose not to continue my diets?

I have 2 major reasons for this:

  1. I am a vegetarian (almost vegan). This means I don’t actually eat meat or fish, so almost everything I eat is actually “clean products” – I believe that clean-eating means no animal; my body is not any graveyard! 😉
  2. I don’t drink any kind of alcohol – so no unhealthy calories from here.

Hello, 2016! :)

Hi lovelies 😉

First of all: Wish you all a very happy & blessed New Year 🙂

I know – I haven’t posted anything on my blog since October last year, it’s been more than 2 months now! Pardon! – have been pretty much stressed and not that much into sharing anything, but now I’m back, hopefully stronger and happier than before – and I’m indeed looking forward to a great year 🙂

The past 6 months have been one hell of challenge, but I’m not giving up, and sure I’ll never do! 😉

Many of us usually pick of on or more useful and worthy new year’s resolutions, and this time I too decided to pick up some:

  • Keep on exercising 3 times a week
  • Keep sharing good stuff
  • Spending more time on creativity/art
  • Not spending too much money 😛

Furthermore, I really love, and appreciate those who are into humanitarian and charity work. As a part of this, I last year became a member of UNICEF. I hope to do more of this kind of charity, and this will definitely be one of my aims too 🙂

Fitness is an important part of my life too, I use to exercise and eat healthy, and I’m surely a practitioner of clean eating, but I’ve troubles in avoiding dairy foods. However, that’s the other side of my lifestyle – according to me, fitness and healthy eating are 2 important things we all should try following, and we find very useful tips everywhere on how to keep on having these kinds of good habits. I too have decided to focus more on eating healthy, so I started this year this way 😉 Many people keeps asking me if it’s not difficult to eat healthy while being a vegetarian, and my answer is: NO!

Capture the beautiful things the eyes see ;)

One of my newest gadgets, that I bought last month, is this beauty

Yaaa – a Canon EOS 750D 😀

I actually had some trouble in deciding which cam to buy, of course I was sure about Canon, but not which model. My bro’s already got a 600D, which I was very happy to borrow. But I always felt like having one for myself. And you know what, I have been thinking about buying one the past 3-4 years, but it never happened.

BUT!! Last month I suddenly decided to buy one, and luckily the Photo Care shop in Herning had some sale running, so many of the cams very sold to a lower price 😀 I first bought a Canon 100D as I’ve got some small fingers and because of the price, but just one hour later I returned it and bought 750D in stead.  I think 100D is good to start with, but not if you’ve already have been taking pictures with a 600D – you need something that is much smarter and better, so I therefore bought 750D, and I’m soooo happy about it.

I actually bought it some days before the temple festival, so I got to shoot many lovely pictures during the festival. All pictures on the temple’s Facebook page are actually shot on my cam 😛 haha!

Before starting using the cam, I took some test shots:

What do you think? 🙂

The pictures above a shot with either 18-55 or 55-200 lenses, but with different ISO settings 😉

Can’t wait to share more pictures with you guys 😉

Bye for now!

Looking back: Thiruvizha ’15

Not sure if you know, but I’m quite a religious person. Saivism/Kaumaram is my religion, and very proud to call my self a vedic believer. I’ve been writing several posts about vedic, saivite, kaumara beliefs, which have reached many youngsters out there. My aim is to show how beautiful my religion is, because many hindus today don’t really know what their religion is all about. Going to the temple is something I love, finding inner peace and realize what really matters is something I get through prayers and meditation. I’m tha’ kind of person who avoid talking about others, and talk useless stuff – I mostly try to spend the time in “good ways” and develop myself 😉

Here’s a picture I took with my phone while taking pictures with my brand new Canon 750D 😉 This is how the moolasthana Ganesh was decorated on the first day:

So, the yearly thiruvizha is over. I’ve been there every day in this 12-days festival, so I had holiday to participate. My student and I even held a smaller concert, and I guess it was quite successful 🙂

Thiruvizha is like magic for me, I love the spiritual atmosphere in the temple, and how every gets social. I love to see everyone being happy and just focus on all the good stuff taking place. Let it be prayers, mantras, pooja, music; I love it all.  I love meeting all the shivachaaryas and vidwans, and having conversations with them, and learn something new, and get their blessings. Participating in a thiruvizha from the beginning until the end is definitely a blessing. In addition, to share all the beautiful moment with other people is soooo good! 😉

My brother and I’ve taken several pictures, that we posted on the temple’s Facebook-page. I’ve posted some of my mobile pictures here too, have a look 😉

More from the first day, Kodi Aettram:

Mine and another family sponsor the 5th day. The day is called “Katpahatharu thiruvizha”, symbolizing the good as the generous one, giving everything that the worshiper wants. The god is therefore decorated with several fruits and vegetables, to symbolize this. In this occasion, my dad bought some kappal vaazhai (a special species of banana, imported from Sri Lanka), they tasted a bit different 😛 He bought some vegetable too, which my brother and I made garlands out of 😉 Look for the pictures from the 5th thiruvizha here.

Also I, as usual, got to perform on our thiruvizha – with my student 🙂

The Thaer thiruvizha was truly amazing! There were so many people from all over the country, and there were even people from abroad too.

Also this time, my family and another one gave prasadham/food to people – as long as we had – prepared from home. We luckily got some of the prasadham, which I gate after coming home again. Here sweet aval, puli saadham and milagu saadham (thanks to Subbi’s mom for the saadhams):

A picture from the Kodi Irakkam event, where some guys run with the Lord Sandeswarar aftr completing the Kodi Irakkam and veethi ulaa with Lord Ganesh. I know, many ask why we actually run with Lord Sandeswarar. The answer is: There’s not any specific reasons, none other than it’s funny and entertaining. I even asked this year’s mahotsava guru for second opinion, and he told me the same.

The temple has been making a Thanga ratham (golden chariot) for a long time, with the help from Indhiran uncle from England. The work was finally completed this time, and was ready for its velloddam on the 11th day (on the day Poongavanam was held). Velloddam is actually a maiden trip. The thanga ratham will be used for special occasions, such as Vinayaga Chathurthi.

So.. This was Thiruvizha 2015, already counting days to the next 😀
